Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Partners With Iasta To Bring Discounted Reverse Auctions
Local company featured by Tailwind helps businesses reduce costs

Indianapolis, IN, April 2, 2003

The Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce today announced a partnership with iasta, an Indianapolis-based company, to offer discounted reverse auctions to Chamber member businesses.

Last fall, iasta was featured by Tailwind, a local group dedicated to bringing visibility to solid, local technology companies. "(Iasta) met all of Tailwind's criteria: good management team, aggressive business plan that calls for more than 100 to be hired locally in the next three years. Here's a company utilizing technology in our back yard that guarantees a return right in their business model," said Tailwind founder Jeff Cristee of Cisco Systems, Inc.

Chamber President John S. Myrland explains: "You tell the folks at iasta about products and services you need, and they gather qualified vendors to bid on those items. The bidding happens online, in a matter of minutes, and you pick the best deal." Iasta's impressive client list (Roche Diagnostics, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC and others) has cut costs dramatically through iasta reverse auctions.

Buyers can choose from various types of auctions, and pay iasta a small percentage of the savings. Companies can also choose unlimited access to the iasta software and do as many in-house events as they'd like, for a base fee. Chamber members receive a 15% discount off iasta fees.
