Indianapolis, IN USA & Kilkenny, Ireland, May 26, 2010  -- When Glanbia, an international nutritional ingredients and cheese group headquartered in Ireland, decided to re-evaluate their sourcing tool, they shopped around and chose to replace their existing system with SmartSource SRM because of its large feature set, flexible customization options, and easy user interface.
“Glanbia had experienced a low adoption rate with our previous tool because our buyers found it complicated and difficult to use,” said Deirdre Esmonde who led the SmartSource SRM implementation and is charged with helping buyers engage on sourcing projects. “We were very impressed with SmartSource SRM when we first saw it. “Before we used SmartSource SRM, our procurement director had little visibility into current projects because data was not centralized. Now he can easily check on the status of current projects which has been a big advantage for us,” said Esmonde.

We can customize the email that is sent to include contract numbers and contact information. It includes some very clever functionality. Tracking contracts was never a discipline for our buyers before but SmartContracts has made it so easy that we have embraced a better process.”

Results are the real measure of success.  “Since we started working with Iasta, we’ve had positive feedback from the buyer team. We’ve even had positive feedback from suppliers. Glanbia is a relatively new user and we’re already benefitting. We’re saving time and money,” said Esmonde.
